In the past 35 years of ongoing war in Turkey, thousands have lost their lives. These extreme conditions birthed the Kurdish women’s movement, which has taken substantial steps despite its short history. Hope (Hevi), tells the story of four Kurdish women; Eren Keskin, Gulten Kisanak, Aysel Tugluk, and Sakine Cansiz who all fought significant battles and crossed paths with one another. In 2013 Cansiz was massacred in Paris alongside two female comrades. The documentary is a dedication to all of their struggles, desires and hopes.
