Enfal

Enfal, is the name given by the Iraqis to a series of military actions against the Kurds which lasted from February 23 until September 6, 1988. This documentary gives audience a clear picture of the long-term effects of this tragedy on the lives of the Kurds who have developed various cancers and congenital abnormalities caused by the chemicals used in the attack.

Freedom Seeking Kurds is historical documentary that follows the history of the Kurdish national movement between 1914 and 1958. The fall of the Ottoman Empire and the subsequent “creation” of states by the British and the French in the Kurdish regions was the reason why a Kurdish state was never realized. This documentary is the first of a three-part series about Kurdish struggle for self-determination in South Kurdistan (Iraq) beginning in the 1910s.

Sherzad Hedayet interviews people from different ethnic and religious background to get a sense of living together in this highly tense city.
