Casting Announcements for Kurdish Actors

We are happy to inform that there will be castings for two films about the Kurds during the festival. London Kurdish Film Festival is happy to support filmmakers in their selection process for the actors. Please check below two sections if are interested in


  1. Audition for Multi lingual Horror Movie will be shot in 2008 by Kurdish director Lauand Omar. Audition in London on the 5th December

Casting for the film called "Mistress of Mesopotamia" by Kurdish Director Lauand Omar. Lauand Omar's first feature film "Bekhal's Tears" was shown in the 4th London Kurdish Film Festival last year.   1. Casting "Welcome" by French Director Philippe Lioret

Casting call for film called "Welcome" which will be shot in February in France and England by renowned French Director Philippe Lioret.

Short Synopsis

"To impress and reconquer his wife, Simon who is a pool attendant at the Calais swimming pool, takes the risk of helping a young Kurdish refugee who wants to swim across the English channel"


Required Kurdish characters:

  • Bilal , 18 years
  • Zoran around 25 years
  • Koban around 20 ans
  • Eyaz
  • Abbas, between 20 and 30 years

They are all in France and they try to go in England. Bilal wants to go to London because his girl friend, Tara is living there with her family. Bilal is very obstinate. He is our hero.

  • Tara 17 years: she is very beautiful. Her father wants to marry her with Azad who is the owner of a restaurant in London but she loves Bilal
  • Jalal: 18 / 20 years, he is Tara's brother and tries to help her
  • Tara's father between 45 and 55 years. He is very straight
  • Tara's mother 45 years
